International Ground Handling Day (5 May) is a global awareness initiative recognising the professionals who make aviation possible from the ground up.
Ground handling plays a vital role in every safe and efficient flight. From passenger services and lounges to ramp operations, load control, fueling, dispatch support, and other ground services, these teams work behind the scenes to keep aviation moving safely worldwide.
International Ground Handling Day exists to highlight these often-unseen roles, encourage appreciation, and strengthen pride across the global aviation community.
